STATEMENT OF AIMS
STATEMENT OF AIMS (500 words approximately)
You will be required to complete a brief outline of your aims and intentions for the media
production that must be submitted with the production. This will be assessed with the
production and will enable you to explain the ways in which you will apply knowledge and
understanding of the theoretical framework to the production and target the intended
audience.
When shooting my music video, I will include a set with a grey lighting to connote towards the sadness and depression of the song. I will also be filming within a rainy setting and possibly a sudden switch of scenery towards a sunny scene focused on the change of lyrics from the song. Furthermore, the focus of the camera is a key composition towards the video as close shots and far shots would help improve the video as a whole.
The whole base of my production would be based on music marketing a new artist with the universal record label ‘Universal Island Records’.
Nevertheless, a wide range of camera angles will be used to create symbolism for example, a close up shot of the artist singing to begin the video and then further on the scene switches to a long range shot within an outside setting and a wide angle shot to signify the artist is alone. Which therefore links towards the storyline and narrative of the song. As it's solely based on the life of the artist the song ‘run-run-run’ can be regarded as a certain belief, tendencies and responsibilities provided from the artist. Additionally, in particular a mise-en scene will be incorporated to establish the artists star persona and genre of music for instants, certain props will be used such as a mic to represent a certain hip hop genre within the music video linking towards the performance element of the music video. My artist which is myself will be represented as a normal guy most likely wearing bland clothes with most scenes covering his face. This would inform the audience of a guy . Within the video there would be a narrative around the basis of going through life.
The music video would consist of this structure to a certain extent: the scene starts off with my artist within a studio-based setting beginning the song and some movement from the camera to capture different angles. Furthermore, after these scenes take place there would be a switch of scenery hopefully under a grey atmosphere and a bright one where it showcases on some scenes just the background with the camera panning out which would most likely be shown within the middle and ending scenes for the video. However, there would be scenes with my artist with his back to the camera where he would be walking off whilst catching different angles. Then switch back to the studio and maybe some off scenes shown at the ending most likely after the end credits.
The magazine I will be introducing would be based on the record label Island records but it would consist its own individual features. It would have a white background but have a dark theme to it as well . It would also have some parts that comply with my artists perspective in terms of simplicity at its best

ReplyDeleteGood start. My overall comment for you would be, be more descriptive for example, when discussing types of shots, comment on what effect your are trying to achieve with those shots i.e. close up shots will be used to focus on the artists emotional expressions, as the song is one of meaning I wanted to illustrate the lyrics in relation to my visuals etc.
Make sure you have covered all bullet point on the brief in your statements of aims and my overall comment is to be more explanatory with your creative decisions in relation to your magazine, why that font, colour, tone, shot? how does that relate to representations of your chosen social group etc.
Hope this helps,
Fay
