Advertising and Marketing- Adidas

The Poster creates a vibrant scene from the background to the shoes as the colours used are upbeat in a way as well and the model (James Rodriguez) contrasts to the colours around him by wearing black and the camera also seems to be focusing on the boots specifically as the camera is also at a low angle making James look bewildering therefore presenting the boots as a reason for this since most big brands that promote football equipment claim that it raises your game to a certain level. The Adidas logo is also visible as it also has contrasting colours to the background and is of good size where its noticeable but still leaves a lot of room for the product their trying to sell.

This is more of an inspirational advertisement  as they not only use an icon for never backing down but also supplement it with another inspirational catchphrase "Impossible Is Nothing" this gives the impression towards the aimed customer that the brand Adidas proves something about yourself such as after a setback it represents how you respond if you wear their products. Muhammad Ali is shown as an icon for Adidas and boxing which could be seen as a boxing advertisement as well and brings in those customers who are interested in boxing and aspire to Muhammad Ali which also introduces the wide range of sports Adidas support. The background could also represent the roughness and sacrifices that are needed to make it to a certain profession and Adidas believes in that. Muhammad Ali is most known for his success but the reason for this is because of the sacrifices he took to achieve his position. One of his most notorious quotes were, "I hated every minute of training but I said to myself... Don't Quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion".

Adidas released the full BLAH BLAH BLAH advert with Paul Pogba  continuing on from the #FirstNeverFollows successful campaign in order to promote the new Adidas cleats (X16, Ace16 and Messi16). It turns out that it features more stars than the French midfielder and English rapper Stormzy: starring in the film are Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Juventus, Chelsea and Milan.
“Each film provides a defiant response from a series of star players to the feverous gossip, debate and hype that surrounds each club in the build-up to the start of the 2016/17 season. It sees the players from the six global superpower clubs explain that they’ll do their talking where it matters the most, out on the pitch.”
It’s a fun advert, full of energy and colourful graphics. In terms of iconic ads, Nike has always been slightly out of reach but Adidas is definitely catching up with #FirstNeverFollows.
