The kiss of the vampire's poster presents a lot of things first of all the genre which due to the imagery based around the blood dripping down the vampire toothed V for vampire would suggest a horror film genre supported by the way the actors on the poster are presented and the colour codes throughout the poster in which a dark grey background engulfs the background and some red that rips  through the side of it. Furthermore the bats within the background also implies danger and horror.

The are also many more representations through the actors that adjust to the audiences self beliefs and values within the 60's as the male vampire seems to be represented as a strong handsome man in which the women is being submissive towards him and relies on him for support lacking independence and always needing a male figure to guide them, however it also goes against it by adding a female character in which she's doing what before those times would be seen as unnatural which is protecting the male and being projected as the dominant figure in which she to is protecting another male figure while he lays slumped over therefore relying on the female character for support instead of the other way round like the over characters in the background.

The characters are also dressed in a certain way that averts their roles and as the men are dressed smartly with shirts and trousers while the women are in dresses and seen as under dressed back in the 60's which also symbolises another factor within the film and poster 'sex' due to the characters positioning and clothes as the women in the background is kneeling down with her chest up in the air while her mouth is subjectively open. The women in the front also complies with the subject of 'sex' through her choice of dressing but in a way still rejects the fantasy of men who are the main audience by her positioning as during this era the second wave of feminism was being brought into action. So in a way the poster supports the act of feminism by their choice of characters and their positioning which symbolises protection and a lot of self reliance on others.

It also blatantly complies towards the stereotypical vampire by the males sharp teeth and colour of clothing from dark black to red and the ever shadowing cape also the language such as lexis form the words 'Vampire' and 'Kiss' which induces the theme of Romance from 'kiss' and horror from 'Vampire'.
